I met someone two weeks ago whom I had been yapping to in Gaydar Chat for about a year but we never actually got around to meeting until then. It was quite strange because I actually knew him very well and physically meeting was simply adding a voice and face. We had a few drinks then went to a club then a party. We had great craic and it turns out that he knows some people I know so it was like he was a m8, well he is actually.

The Internet can be a great way of meeting people if they are honest about themselves but it does kinda turn the whole first impressions thing on its head. In this case I knew things about him (and vice versa) which would take a long time in the real world to discover and that can actually be very healthy.
