I've been to A & E twice over the past 5 years and found things had indeed improved, especially with the triage system. The waiting time wasn't very long either, to my surprise. And what I was there for wasn't that serious either.

Nell is a disgrace. Her comments are also libellous – I’d be surprised if Harney doesn’t sue for defamation.

We all have our healthcare stories, when you are in the system its a great healthcare system. I have seen it at its best. A and E I don't know how you could actually reduce waiting times when you never can know what is going to come in the door, how could you possibly prepare for every scenario without doubling the budget for our health system.

I had to see a dermatologist a year ago I went private but yesterday I got my letter for a public appointment, 2 months from now, I am to see the same consultant I paid to see nearly 13 months ago. I canceled because her treatment worked.

That's a very interesting story and I don't mean to be rude, but how is that relevant to Mary Harney's alleged alcoholism?

thats insane riot! as most of u know, I lived in spain for a few years. anytime i needed to go to the hospital, one could just walk in, wait maybe an hour... two on a weekend night, and be seen. and its free with this card u get and paid for by taxes.
Here? 8 hours if ur lucky... and maybe 200 euros as insult to injury (excuse the pun)

I waited only 30 mins approx both times in Connolly Memorial but it does cost €100 now though (€60 a few years ago).
I used a free medical centre in Spain last summer which was wonderful too.
