Hey all,

as I'm moving up to Dublin next week I thought I might steal one of Mister T's idea's and see if ye think it might work in Dublin.

Mister T recently organised a Video Games Meet on Gaycork.com. This involved him booking a room in The Other Place and bringing along two wii's and an Xbox (and three TV's of course). The games we used were Mario Kart Wii, Smash Brothers and Rock Band. There were also board games and cards for those that were technolergic.

The night was a great success and it was something he was asked to do again.

So would it work in Dublin? I think it's possible to book a room in the Outhouse for such an event.

It's just something I'm thinking about at the moment and I would need help organising (as I only have one wii).

What ye think? Any suggestions or volunteers?

Id defo go and happy to give a hand if needs be....but out of country from 13th of March til end of April

yeah the one down here was great craic, hope you go ahead with it and may it be a great sucess, might take a stroll up if it suits with work (if i'm still working of course )
but i don't think logging the rock band stuff up would be fun so hope you get someone to donate one for the night.

Well it will probably take me a while to get moved up and settled into Dublin and that so I can't see it happening before March 13th , but thanks for the offer.

If it's successful, it could be made a monthly thing so u might be roped into it then. Also I think it would be held during the week so that it wouldn't interfere with anyone who might be going home/going out at the weekend etc


No, it wouldn't be much fun Might get you to do the poster (or modify the GC one for me maybe) if you have the time and if we get things going?

Hmm. I'm not too up to speed with the latest out there but give me multiplayer Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D or Quake and you can all say hello to Jesus for me. *revs chainsaw*

Which is why, for those not okay with video games there would hopefully be some classic board games (providing someone can kindly offer them should this go ahead)

I know nothing about video games apart from a two hour tryst with Super Mario back in the early 1990s.

But, I'm a whizz at trivial pursuit and with Monopoly I can make the most mercenary capitalist wish he'd never been born .... so yes, would be up for this if there are traditional board games.
